2015 – Basket Brigade Kalisz

In 2015 Basket Brigade Kalisz decided to deliver 50 hampers with food and cosmetics to families in need in Kalisz. Increased goal from 5 hampers in 2014 to 50, seemed to be unreachable.

But since day one, we received tremendous amount of donations from Agata’s closest family and her friends. However, without a massive support of Keith McConigly, who ran together with his mum, in Dublin Marathon and collected for us over £926.00 (net), we would never achieve our goal. Additionally Agnieszka Włodarczyk supported us and promoted Basket Brigade Kalisz in her Hair Studio ‘ Tony’. This year we also started, for the first time, to promote the charity on our Website created by Agata’s cousin, Ania.

The event took place on 22nd of December and started at 9 am sharp on cold winter morning.  Thanks to kindness of Director of Primary School nr 14 in Kalisz, we were able to prepare all the hampers in the warm and cosy school gym. We were surprised by teachers who prepared amazing and beautiful banner for Basket Brigade Kalisz 2015 and by children who brought their own Santa Claus hats. With the help of around 50 volunteers – pupils, teachers, parents, family and others, we managed to organise and deliver all 50 hampers in only 3 hours!

In total we were able to deliver 50 hampers, we collected £1076 in 3 different currencies, we used 15 cars and we get involved over 100 people.
